My Role

UX / UI designer

The Problem

Online shopping has been a major deal for most people, buying products online could go two ways either you get what you wanted or it has a quality problem or may be damaged in the course of shipping the products down to you. when buying online you have to also consider when you want to use the product, so this limits those who want to purchase a product online who want to use it urgently.

Target Audience

* Private Individuals

who need to find the nearest store to purchase a product.

* SMEs

Shop/small business owner who want to promote their products and services

The Solution

To solve the problem we built a web application that gives small business owners the power to create an online store and private individuals to search for products nearby. The features of the app include-

* Easy search experience for customers to instantly find what they want to purchase, in case they couldn't find the business on the site.

* Easy sign-up process for business/Shop owners

* A business page that contains a list of all the businesses on Swipeplug and the price for the products or services.

* Easy configuration/customization.

The Process.

Swipeplug V1 already existed before I came on the project, I just had to work with the information and research already done before I came on board, after carefully analysing the already existing product, I and the stakeholders did some brainstorming and after critically accessing the product we resolved to redesign the entire web application. I on my own conducted a user test with the existing product to understand how users use the product and this helped to gain insight on how to go about the project.

User Flow

Although this product has two basic users I went ahead to create one user flow which will differentiate each user at the point of entrance. This user flow shows all routes/paths a user takes to complete tasks throughout the application.

Style Guide

To maintain a consistent style and create a visually appealing design, I created a style guide to set rules and keep the product clear and useable for the end users. These include typography, colours system, and UI components, the style guide also helped to communicate the design clearly to the developer. Check out the style guide

High Fidelity Design

Because the product has two major users I designed a home page, store/business page, product page and a product detailed page for individuals looking to buy pieces of stuff from stores

Product listing/Shop Customization

For the users who are small business owners, I designed a manage store and product pages to help them list their products, manage the products they listed and also shop customization page to customize how their store is displayed on the website.
